Frequently asked questions

The practical questions couples ask us most.

Every wedding is different. These answers give you a useful starting point, and our team can talk through the details that apply to your day.

Packages & suppliers

Do I have to use all of your suppliers?

Not necessarily. Suppliers included in your core package are part of the coordinated experience, but the offering can be tailored to suit your celebration—for example, an Indian-style menu. Premium package suppliers are optional, and you’re welcome to bring your own florist, photographer, cake maker or other preferred suppliers.

Is the wedding package really all-inclusive?

Yes. Apart from your dress, rings and invitations, the core and premium options bring the venue, food, drinks, styling, entertainment, celebrant, photography and key details together through one team, with a clear total and no unexpected supplier bills.

Personal touches

Can my nanna make our wedding cake?

Absolutely. Personal touches are always welcome. We’ll simply help coordinate the practical details, including delivery and set-up, so everything is ready for your celebration.

Are there styling restrictions?

There is plenty of flexibility with styling, décor and colour. Our team will guide you through the available options and help make sure everything works beautifully in the space.

The venue & weather

Is The Mallard Duck exclusively ours on our wedding day?

Yes. The Mallard Duck is an exclusive-use venue, so you won’t share the property with another wedding or group on your day.

What happens if it rains?

The venue has a permanent 15m × 10m marquee that seats up to 70 guests with room for dancing. Additional marquee space can be arranged, and ceremonies can be styled inside with white draping, florals and your arbour if needed.

Guests & getting here

Is the venue accessible for disabled and elderly guests?

Yes. The venue has wheelchair access and accessible bathroom facilities, with reserved parking close to the venue. We can also coordinate with your suppliers to make arrival and movement around the property easier.

Is there accommodation on site?

There is no accommodation on site, but there are nearby options, with the closest around 700 metres away. We can share recommended accommodation and transport details to help your guests plan their stay.

What parking and transport options are available?

There is plenty of on-site parking and easy access for disabled guests. Uber services the Swan Valley well, and Prestige Charters is recommended for bridal party transport, guest transfers and bus shuttles.

Timings & music

What are the start and finish times?

You are welcome to choose a ceremony time that suits your plans, with receptions concluding by 11pm.

Do you have noise restrictions?

Live music can be enjoyed outdoors during the ceremony and cocktail hour until 8pm. Dance music then moves into the marquee, with celebrations concluding by 11pm.
